Dr. Frederick W. Barker MD is a board-certified general surgeon with a special interest in Comprehensive Breast Care. With an office in Bluefield, Virginia, he now does the majority of his surgery at Princeton Community Hospital. Receiving his MD degree from WVU in 1981, Dr. Barker moved to Bluefield in 1989, following service as an Air Force general surgeon. As curator of Appalachian Medical Professional's website, Dr. Barker hopes to help address our area's most serious health concerns, starting with Improving Breast Cancer Outcomes in Rural Appalachia (IBCORA).
